2011 Kia Sportage LX 2.4L

Summary:

A great car for the person who wants premium features and is not afraid to try a newer manufacturer

Faults:

The car intermittently would not release from Park with the brake applied.

The headlights will auto off when the vehicle is turned off and armed, but when I reenter the vehicle and exit again, the lights may stay on, causing a discharge of the battery.

General Comments:

The vehicle has similar looks to more expensive vehicles in its class.

The vehicle is being used primarily for city driving and road trips.

The small fuel tank makes the Sportage seem as if it is burning more fuel.

Some of the interior materials around the center console feel too inexpensive to inspire long term confidence.

The Sportage is peppy, and passing at highway speeds is not an issue.

Turning sharply between uneven pavement surfaces e.g. driveways, corners downhill causes a stress noise in the wheel well.

Many drivers complain about the comfort of the seats, but they are adequate and adjust into many positions and heights.

The engineering of the engine bay and replaceable interior parts is straightforward and simple.

The cabin is susceptible to road noise, and the suspension telegraphs the road in a way that betrays the Sportage's good looks.

The rear of the vehicle is chock full of lights, but only the lights at the very bottom are turn indicators.

All in all, my first experience with an entry level manufacturer has been pleasant.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

2011 Kia Sportage

Summary:

Absolutely wonderful!!

General Comments:

This vehicle handles all roads with ease. The only thing that I don't like about it is the comfort of the seats for long distance driving.
