1984 Lincoln Mark VII 5.0 CFI


They don't make them like this anymore


Door lock actuators failed at about 95k miles.

Needed some exhaust work done (leak at cat) at 100K miles.

HVAC's heater core replaced at 108K miles, along with the blower motor resistor.

The clear-coat paint is starting to peel in some areas.

There is a slow small drip leak at the rear main seal, I have had it for the last 4 years.

General Comments:

This '84 is still on the road today (in 2010), it will start on the first attempt, and has had zero engine issues, other than a tune-up.

I personally replaced the door lock actuators, heater core & blower resistor.

I had Midas replace the catalytic convertor about 5 years ago.

The Mark VII still rides much smoother than our 04 Cadillac.

The build quality is so much better than newer model Lincolns (or Mazdas, whatever they are).

It is made with heavier gauge sheet metal; you walk on the hood and not dent it.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
