Faults:

Brakes replaced at 75,000 miles.

Transmission rebuilt at 102,000 miles.

Engine short block replaced at 98,000 miles due to coolant leaking into oil.

General Comments:

This is by far the best car I have ever owned and still driving.

Even though I had a new engine installed, it was still well worth the money spent, the car still drives like a dream.

Handles very well for this big Lincoln.

The car came with the optional digital dashboard with trip computer and all options except for the power moon roof.

Everything still works fine and the upholstery and interior are still in very mint condition. The body is still in Great condition and there is very very little rust if any.

The only thing I dislike about this car is that is does use more gas, but that is to be expected with this great car.

Faults:

Virtually the only thing that has gone wrong with this car is the alternator which I was able to pick up a used on for about $20.00.

The seats are velor and have been singed due to the previous owner smoking so avidly.

The air conditioning no longer works, but that's to be expected.

The power antenna only works about 95%, it won't go down all the way.

The idle went a bit high and I was surprised to find out that it had electronic ignition that you can over ride with the distributor. Anyway that was about a $50.00 bill at my mechanic.

General Comments:

I can't believe how great this car is. I paid about $1800.00 Canadian for it and threw some new brake pads in and it just runs great. Virtually everyone who goes for a drive in this car gets out and says "What a Great Car"

I also stuck a CD player in it and the sound is incredible. The paint although slightly worn still polishes up really nicely. People always comment on how great the car looks. Not bad for a car with 300,000 kilometers on it. And although I only get about 14 miles to the gallon in the city, most of my other friends drive newer cars and make loan payments.

I'd buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

Faults:

Nothing!

General Comments:

This car defines luxury, plain and simple. If you happen to find one of these vehicles for a few hundred dollars, BUY IT! This vehicle is roomy, smooth, quiet, elegant, classy, and just plain cool. All you need to do is point the hood ornament to where you want to go!

The trunk is huge!

My Lincoln is affordable to maintain. I made the mistake of getting a "torque converter transfusion" where they blow out the old fluid with new. Of course, the old filter was still in place and this operation succeeded in blowing metal bits all into the transmission and therefore ruining the shift valves. HOWEVER, the cost for a full rebuild on my AOD transmission is only $800.00 for parts AND labor!

Faults:

The hood supports had no charge and needed replaced when I purchased the car (at a cost of $23, guaranteed for life).

The factory front brakes required replacement at 57,500 miles.

General Comments:

Very little effort was required to return this car to showroom condition. It had spent most of its low miles in seasonal commutes between Michigan and Florida. The Cambria cloth roof is in excellent condition.

The car is so quiet, you can barely hear it running, and with the windows up, road noise is surprisingly low, even for a Lincoln.

Everything still works: the thermometer mounted to the driver's side view mirror is accurate and is lighted at night; the automatic headlamps and automatic high/low beam function; the automatic day/night mirror; the factory powered moon roof has no leaks.

At less than one-eighth the price of a new Lincoln, not to mention reasonable insurance rates, motorists who prefer a luxury ride without the luxury price tag should consider an older Lincoln. Many of these cars are owned by older drivers who take excellent care of their vehicles.
