1995 Lincoln Town Car Signature V8

Summary:

Even at 15 years old, this car makes me feel, viscerally, like I own the town

Faults:

Required new rear brake pads.

Currently deal with intermittent electric problems.

Needs a new AC compressor.

General Comments:

I would have never believed I would voluntarily drive a Lincoln Town Car.

I developed a "sitting discomfort" and sought a car that ran smoothly on rough roads.

I bought my Town Car to help overcome my problem, and fell in love in the process.

I was dismayed by the clumsiness of my Town Car on the windy country roads where I live. Getting rid of the stock tires and replacing them with high performance comfort tires from Tire Rack completely changed the dynamics of the car.

It continued to ride softly, but its handling was vastly improved.

1995 Lincoln Town Car Signature series 4.6 liter V8

Summary:

Best ride I've ever had or seen

Faults:

I have had a oil filter housing gasket fail. It was cheaper than $100 bucks to fix, and is normal and should be expected in a car that age.

I have also had the coolant hose under the intake manifold bust, but that is also normal for a car that age. That was a little pricey; $2 for the hose and 400 bucks labor. And that's the only problems I ever had with this car, and I drive it a lot.

I take care of it and maintain it meticulously. I use synthetic oil and Lucas oil additive. The oil change typically will last 6 months, but I change it anyway at 4 to 5 months.

I would depend on that car to save my life. It is the best mode of transportation around. I will recommend that car to anyone.

General Comments:

I get decent gas mileage for a V8. It can run on regular unleaded, but I use supreme because I'm particular.

It has a lot of power.

It is very dependable; on a scale from one to a ten, I'd give it a ten.

It is very comfortable. I converted my air suspension to shocks with a kit I bought at O'Reillys Auto Parts.

It is the best car I have ever owned. I am a car collector, and this car has made me a Ford / Lincoln collector.

Handling is great. It has a twenty gallon fuel supply in the rear of the car. I just wish it was twenty five gallons. It is a wonderful car for long trips.

Premium gas in a vehicle designed for regular gas adds nothing to performance or engine maintenance.

Yes, I agree "particular" has nothing to do with it. Waste of money. The premium gas can actually hinder optimum performance if the engine is not designed for it. My 1995 Lincoln Signature gets 10 liters/100 km on regular fuel.

1995 Lincoln Town Car Signature 4.6L V8

Summary:

Smooth, sweet, and reliable!!!

Faults:

When I bought the car it needed three window regulators replaced, and two fuses replaced. I do my own car repairs so all it cost me was the parts, only thing I out-sourced was having the head liner redone, cost was $120.00 and the guy came to our home to pick-up old head-liner and brought new one back, not bad. Have not done any thing to drive train, other than keeping it maintained, that's the "key" on making a car last, the maintenance. Keep your fluids changed, when you hear something strange, get it fixed, don't wait till it gets worse, it's just going cost you more. I love this car!!

General Comments:

I had to have this car, one it was my favorite color, Blue. Second it was a Spinnaker Edition, With Creme top, and gold badges.

I thought I would never sell my 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC, till I seen this car, like my little girl says, Daddy's and Jenny's Lincoln, is so pretty.

This car is super reliable, besides it has the best engine Ford ever built the 4.6 Liter V-8.

This is our fourth Lincoln, we have owned three Town Cars and one Mark VIII.

I love my 95 Mark 8 it has 225000 miles on it and it is still a dream to drive. I have replaced the water pump and alternator and a window motor. Everything else is the way she came.

I love this car, it's timeless!

A 1995 anything is an old car now. A 1995 doesn't have OBD II, for example. All OBD II cars escape the troublesome dynamometer emissions test where it is required.

If I had a 1995, I'd dump it now!!!
