2003 Mazda RX8 Sport and Sound packages 1.3L Renesis rotary wankel

Summary:

Complex mechanically, yet precise in every aspect

Faults:

First off, if you are going to buy this car, be patient and learn about it before you buy it. If you are not a car person, you should make sure you are aware of what owning a rotary engine means.

Things that I have had trouble with include the car not starting this winter (which was fixed for free at my local Mazda dealer); the problem was a computer programing unit that was not updated. The only other problem is the tail light gaskets, which are at fault for water in my tail lights.

General Comments:

This car handles like a dream because of its double wishbone suspension and 50-50 weight distribution.

The car lacks quick acceleration stock due to its 200 horse power, but can be heavily modified, and its top end speed is actually pretty fast.

This little car is quick and nimble, and very responsive. This car's interior is as amazing as its exterior looks.

2003 Mazda RX8

Summary:

Great exotic car,

Faults:

Had starting issue when I first got the car. I was told about the short trip issue, but. I guess I didn't believe it. Other than that I have had no problems. It does use oil. That is the nature of the car. Tire sensors light comes on a lot. I chalk that up to new technology...

General Comments:

This is a very quick, on rails car, great on road trips, can handle nice size golf bag and the wife's luggage. You have to pay a lot more dough to get something better.

I'm not so sure I would consider a Mazda "Exotic", but you go right ahead if it makes you happy!

In other countries, Mazda is one of the best cars.

Seems like 'MOST' Americans drive trucks and vans, so maybe that's why Americans can't make good comments on the Rx8.

This is not a an insult to Americans, only ones that don't know much about cars especially the Rx8

Maybe stick to your buses, trucks, vans or whatever it is you like.

Where I am, Rx8 is a top car with great reviews.

I love mine (1 yr no problems, great choice) and I would not doubt this car at all.

It's the BEST.

We don't have snow and the car runs fine, interior is amazing. Whoever says its cheap has no clue about anything.

You obviously don't know how to take care of your cars.

2003 Mazda RX8 rotary

Summary:

A nice looking, undependable, frustrating auto

Faults:

My motor had to be replaced at 642 miles.

My air conditioning unit had to be replaced at 2,000 miles.

My driver side sun visor had to be replaced at 2,500 miles.

General Comments:

This car has been at the dealership more than in my garage.

The sporty look of this car is not worth the hassle of wondering what is going to go wrong next.

Do not expect Mazda to go out of their way to satisfy a customer.

You will be much better off with a Toyota, Honda, or Mitsubishi. I have owned them all.

I have had my high power manual rx-8 since June 2004.

I live in the U.K. and the car has been fine since I got it.

I get the manufacturer's stated mpg figures, and I the more miles I put on it the better it seems to get.

So far I have made 3500 miles and am now using my second liter of semi-synthetic oil.

My general comment is that this car does exactly what it says on the tin.
