2003 Mercedes-Benz S-Class 430 V8

Summary:

I won't buy another one

Faults:

The tires wore out at 25000 miles.

The trunk lid shock holder broke.

General Comments:

The good:

This car is extremely comfortable.

The fuel mileage is great for the size of the vehicle.

The 4-matic transmission is excellent for traction in all mud or snow conditions.

The bad:

The headlights do give adequate light to drive over 30 mph with the dims and 55 mph with the brights.

The original tires only lasted 25,000 miles. One would hope that when you pay $85,000.00 for car that the manufacturer would have installed a tire that would last 50,000 to 60,000 miles.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

The tire complaint is the single most asinine thing I've read in quite some time. They're performance tires, they wear out faster because they have better grip than the cheap 60k tires you buy at Wal-Mart. Furthermore, driving style has a great deal to do with how fast tires wear out. Regardless, if you can't afford the tires...

I have owned MB all my life, and now I have the 2004 S600L and to be honest it's the best car in the world hands down!!!

I've got 5 MB right now; some are new, and still I prefer the 600.

I also have a BMW M3 new and RR, and it s**ts on all of them!!!

It's reliable, looks good, comfy, and is easy to tune. I had work done to mine so it's damn fast.

2003 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S500 5.0 liter V8

Summary:

The S500 is a freeway luxurious king

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

Since I own a 2002 Mercedes-Benz S430 and the 2003 Mercedes-Benz S500, it is the best S-Class Mercedes I have ever driven. The Mercedes-Benz S500 is not only comfortable, luxurious, and convenient, but it is quick on the freeway because of the spurring 5.0 liter 302 horsepower V-8 engine. One of the thing that is unique on the Mercedes-Benz S500 is, it has the projected Bi-Xenon headlamps.

The engine is 306 HP. And the bi-xenon headlights can be ordered FOR ALL Mercedes models, not only the S500.

Actually 302hp S500 is produced for American market. Here, in Europe we enjoy 306hp though, acceleration is higher on American models. Having my first month of owning it can say that the car is exciting.
