Faults:

Transmission went bad after 180 000km. They changed it, and now it started acting like a bad transmission again. The small company mechanic changed the speed sensor, and the car runs like new. Dealer wanted to change the trans again, LOL.

General Comments:

The car is very comfy and has a beautiful shape; love it.

The car handles very well; even in winter it's OK.

Faults:

Wheel bearings - Some more than once.

Transmission lock-up slips.

Constantly shaking.

Heater failure.

O2 sensors.

Power locks are failing.

Spews power steering fluid.

Ungodly fuel consumption.

Always out of alignment.

General Comments:

I suppose it's been a reliable family hauler. It's got loads of room in the cargo area, it's really wide, and has lots of room for five people, six in a pinch. Mostly it's just starting to decay, as most Canadian cars do.

The steering has always been out of alignment. It's always crooked and pulls this way or that, and the tires are never balanced, leading to irritating vibration at highway speeds.

The transmission is starting to go: sometimes it slams from gear to gear, and the lock-up doesn't work very well.

Decent acceleration, but surprisingly tight steering for something that looks (and weighs in) like a whale.

Better than a Focus. And the power locks are failing; to unlock the trunk you have to crawl through the cargo area.

The most ungodly fuel consumption; you'd pay the same in gas for a Suburban or a large truck.

Faults:

The exhaust developed a leak and had to be replaced.

The paint is fading off the hood.

Power steering pump whines.

General Comments:

A pretty good car for the money.

I bought this car as a gas saver in 2006 for $2000, and it's been pretty good.

First off, I have the Vulcan engine, which is a VERY durable engine, but don't expect to win any races. If you want lots of power, get the 24V DOHC, I've driven one with the Duratec engine, it's tons faster.

I get very good fuel economy with this car, about 23/28.

The car is pretty comfortable for the most part, but the back seats are rather uncomfortable on long trips. The car is pretty quiet also, except under harder acceleration. The trunk is a good size too.

Overall, this has been a good, reliable car for the price. I recommend it.

Faults:

I had to change a front spring at 45,000 miles.

Nothing else besides regular maintenance!

General Comments:

This is a great car.

I bought this car as my first car in 2001 for only $ 4,000.It had low mileage. It has been a daily driver now for almost eight years and it has never let me down once.

The car is fairly quick, but the Vulcan needs a bit more pep.

The seats are pretty comfortable for the most part, except on long road trips. The ride is pretty good except on very bumpy roads. The interior is very quiet, even on the highway.

Fuel economy is great, with a combination of city and highway driving, I average 24-26 MPG. But I've racked up 30-31 on the highway.

I think this car should get better reviews than it does. It's a great car!

Faults:

The only problem I had was that for one day the inside light wouldn't go off, even after I started the car, but that bug seemed to work itself out.

General Comments:

While I have not owned this car for very long, I will say that I am extremely pleased with it. The previous owners obviously took very good care of the car, and as long as proper maintenance is maintained, the car runs like a dream.

I was pretty surprised, especially after how many bad reviews that I have read about this car. But then I found that there are just as many good ones as bad ones. This should go without saying with any car, as long as you take good care of it, this car will run perfectly.
