2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart 2.4 Mivec

Summary:

It is an awesome reliable car

Faults:

The clutch has a rattling noise which sounds as if something is wrong with the car, but goes away when clutch is compressed.

General Comments:

I have added a roll cage and racing seats. It improves the handling on this vehicle to the point of keeping up with auto cross racers.

It has unbelievable power. It will keep up with spec-v's if you power shift.

Not many performace parts yet, however, nitrous, full exhaust, ecu upgrade, and larger injectors will put you over 230 horsepower.

Standard Evo's put out between 240- 276hp in UK, I would expect nitros to add about 50hp taking it to 330ish?

10 to 20 hp with a short ram intake out of a 162 hp 2.4L engine? I think you've watched Fast and the Furious too many times. If by short ram air intake you mean "leafblower attached to the throttle body", then yes I agree. I not, then you're an idiot.

I just wanted to say that I bought one 3 months ago and I love it to death, the handling, power and interior design is just great for a car in that price range and class.

A roll cage and racing seats improve handling? Since when? This has got to be a joke. A nitrous shot only bringing it up to 240, along with an ECU, Injectors, Intake and Exhaust? That must be a tiny shot of nitro.

Hey guys, I just bought an 04' Ralliart and I wanted to know the horsepower on it. The exhaust is not stock and neither is the clutch, and I'm about to buy a Hurricane Short Rame intake. So what do you think that will put it at?

I just installed a vortex superchager in my lancer from jackson racing, and I will tell you it added a hell of a lot more than 10-35 extra HP.

2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart 2.4 MIVEC

Summary:

Sporty yet practical

Faults:

Rattling in the dash/windshield area after I got my 6 disd CD changer installed, had insulation put into dash panel and it went away.

General Comments:

This car is totally sexy looking. Sporty yet practical, I have all the cargo space I would need. Car handles like a dream, takes corners tight with no over or under steer. little to no torque steer when accelerating hard. Quick off the line although I think they could have squeezed more HP our of a 2.4L engine. All in all, I love my car and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Its good to hear about rattles and such. I'm looking forward to purchasing one, but would definitely like to hear about possible repairs or problems! (if any)

2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES ES2.0L I4, 16v, 120@5500hp

Summary:

I look forward to enjoying my Lancer for many years to come!

Faults:

Flawless in the first few hundred miles.

General Comments:

The Lancer is surprisingly roomy and comfortable. Seats 4 adults very comfortably with armrest divider in the rear that has two cup holders. Very ergonomic interior with detail you'd expect on a much pricier car like grips over passenger doors, electric rear-view mirror adjustment, lots of storage space, mirrors in both sun visors, etc. Mine came with the "convenience package" that includes split rear seats and key less entry.

Very spunky for a small engine, especially with 5-speed transmission. Cruises easily on the freeway at 70 mph, but much over that starts developing road noise. Stock tires and the smaller rim size probably influences this. Steering is very responsive with no "slop". Braking excellent. 31 mpg around town with very little freeway driving!

I really like the exterior. I chose the Phoenix Red. Very nice lines, wide stance. Get comments on the roof antenna. The wheel covers are a bit tacky, but hey, the car was $12,400! For an additional $1,500 I took a 10 year/100,000 mile "everything" warranty. With that, tax, license it was around $15,000.00 out the door. A lot of car and a lot of security for that kind of money!
