Summary:

A little regular maintence and this truck will go indefinitely

Faults:

Spark plug cables replaced at 40000 or 50000 - typical.

A wire on the A/C clutch got chewed up by the A/C compressor at 90000 miles. A $50 repair.

General Comments:

Built to go and go and go!

This truck can hold 3 people, but it is very hard to drive as I have a manual transmission.

I love the direct feel of no power steering... Unless I am in a parking lot. (I guess power steering was an option) Oh well, it's a good workout.

I have been told that these compact trucks can come out of alignment easily, causing rapid tire wear, So have it checked from time to time.

The seats are not very supportive for long trips.

As stock, there was a good bit of cab noise. This was remedied by putting in cheap carpet padding under the carpet.

I am a high school student and my dad gave this to me for my first vehicle. I am always around other kids who have/use other budget vehicles, and I now know that not all of us are lucky enough to own such a reliable and capable vehicle.

I don't burn any oil, no matter what climate or type of driving style it is being subjected to.

In town I get 18MPG and 24MPG on the highway/freeway.

The original brakes were checked at 75000 miles and the pads were still 75% there.

Virtually nothing has gone wrong, and there are no signs of wearing that isn't typical for any vehicle its age.

The original red paint is holding up great, with no fade. I wax every 6 months which pays off; it is very glossy.

As a normal teenage male, I have had some instances where I have wanted to (or needed to) drive it very, very hard. Even under this stress, there has never given me any grief.

With chrome wheels, chrome bumper, tinted windows (with back slider), bed liner and chrome tie downs, it is not a bad looking truck.

Summary:

A highly reliable, cost conscious champion of mini trucks

Faults:

Shifter bolt broke causing the shifter to get stuck at around 50,000 miles.

General Comments:

This is the single most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I would purchase a newer model today if it were still available in North America. The only thing I don't like is the lack of available after market accessories for this rather plain truck (no fault of the manufacturer).
