Nothing other than the usual maintenance/wear items.

Has been rock-solid reliable, never left me stranded.

I love how reliable this vehicle has been. And at 137,000 miles, it still runs as quiet as when new.

With the 4 cyl. engine and 5-speed manual, gas mileage is great for a vehicle of this size.

The only downside and my only complaint about this truck is the lack of power going up hills, which is to be expected when a 4 cyl. is in a vehicle that weighs 4,000 lbs.

Overall, a very reliable and solid vehicle that I have owned for 12 years, and will probably have for at least 12 more. I have no doubt this truck will last at least 300K miles.

Bought used and had to have a new CD player put in it the stock one didn't work.

Seats aren't all that comfortable on long drives.

Back seat has enough leg room for kids but an adult over 5.5 feet tall will feel a little cramped.

Horn sounds like a moped.

AC makes a squealing noise so I just don't use it.

Runs great. I'm only selling mine because my family size is now demanding a minivan.

For an SUV, it gets great gas mileage.

Four wheel drive kicks butt in the snow and heavy rain.

Had it for five years, changed the brakes about 4 years into it (not sure how old they were when I changed them) and the tires just got changed.

Make sure if you have any electric work done, it gets done by a pro. When I had the new CD player put in, the guy who did it screwed it up and there were a few shorts I had to take to a specialist to fix.

Will need an alignment every few years if you drive it like an SUV is supposed to be driven, which I did (woods, every kind of weather, hauling everything, etc).

I have had to replace the starter, the A/C compressor, A/C fan and expansion valve. The driver seat has split in two, but the other seats look fine.

Need more power for an SUV that size.

The Montero Sport has been a reliable car. Living in Arizona, I have found that the A/C never blows cold enough when it's over 110F outside. That's the only real issue that I have had with this truck. And as a truck, it rides like a donkey, especially when empty. It won't absorb most bumps like today's car based SUV.

Also, the engine is not very powerful. Pressing the accelerator hard causes the engine to growl loudly, lurch forward without really moving that fast. It always starts right up, and idles very smoothly even with 125k miles on the odo. This SUV feels like it can last forever, and my plan is to find out how long that is.

After nearly 10 years, it is still a very good looking SUV with classic, rugged line. How many funny looking SUV (i.e XC90, X5, RX300, Rendezvous etc) can you say that about? It's a great value for its normal reduced asking price compared to other premium SUV.

Had to have the 10 CD disk changer replaced.

I live on a dirt road 12 miles from town and my Montero handles like a dream. I already have done 18,000 miles, and have only owned it 8 months. It feels really solid, and I love it.
