1990 Nissan Maxima SE V6

Summary:

I guess it is OK-wish it ran better

Faults:

Clock does not work.

Only radio works now with speakers going on and off when they feel.

So far I have had to replace #5 fuel injector. $$

Had to have engine harness connectors all replaced $$

Antenna does not work.

General Comments:

Love the V6 power up hills and passing cars.

Car is roomy.

Love the leather seating.

If these are the only non wear and tear things to go wrong in 13 years of ownership I think you've done quite well.

1990 Nissan Maxima GXE 3.0 Liter

Summary:

A great, inexpensive used car!!

Faults:

2 power window regulators (notorious)

Exhaust flex pipe.

CV axle.

Odometer/Trip-meter servomotor (from donor cluster)

Radio speakers in front (bad foam surrounds)

Had to re-solder power resistor on clock module due to heat breaking solder joint.

General Comments:

This car is a blast to drive! It is peppy off the line and handles well.

It rides like a bigger car than it is and is very smooth with the V6 and auto transmission. Delayed shifting with the "power mode" is nice!

28.5 MPG Highway mileage.

The interior is comfortable and roomy and the visibility is very nice.

I do not like the automatic seat belts or the lack of a cup holder.

1990 Nissan Maxima S.E.

Summary:

Nissan Maxima from 1988 to 2004 great cars

Faults:

I wan't to give you an honest and valid review of 1990 Nissan Maxima that's common to drive in the streets. The transmission had to be changed at 165,000 miles which means that it took 14 years for the tranny to blow out! A milestone! However, the electrical wiper arms had to be replaced and repaired about 3 times in 2 years and it still doesn't work. I spent about $700 to get the wipers to work and I'm driving in the rain and snow with no wiper arms. The suspension is absolutely terrible which causes the tires to blow out all the time when driving on a bumpy road. However, Nissan Maxima are incredible long lasting cars...

I can't believe you have no good comments about it. I also have a 1990 Maxima, and I don't see anything wrong with the suspension or wiper arms, and mine has 195,000 miles on it.

1990 Nissan Maxima SE 3.0

Summary:

Bad reliability from Nissan

Faults:

Engine is completely gone!!! transmission problems, AC doesn't work, breaks do not work, car bearly goes on the road, batter leaked, and at times does not start.

General Comments:

A car that can promise well, but doesn't. This car is pretty plain on the outside, and not much on the interior. Not cheap on gas. Now the car just sits in the garage.

280,000km's?! What do you expect man. There are a million Dodge & Chevy owners out there who would float away to heaven if someone told them they'd get 280,000km's out of their engine & tranny. A lot of cars never see mileage that high. Reliability 0/10? Yeah right...

Wait just a minute... Did you buy this car new? Do you have any idea how it was serviced up until you bought it? I just purchased a 1990 Maxima with 113K on it (miles not kilos) and it performed flawlessly driving it 994 miles in 13 hours. It also got over 26 mpg, not bad for a 14 year old car. Think about what you have and what condition it is in, I have a two owner car that looks new and I gave less than 10% of new price...

1990 Nissan Maxima Type S SE 3.0 V6

Summary:

A toy to play with

Faults:

My Clutch went bad after 14,000 miles that I had it.

The Sunroof leaked all the time.

The 1 driver-side light wouldn't open, I had to open the hood and hit the motor knob for it to work.

General Comments:

Was a cool ride, for weekends, but not very comfortable or roomy.

Having a motor in the rear and a rear-wheel drive car was a nice thing.

Was quick for a little car.
