1967 Oldsmobile Toronado 425 ci V8

Summary:

The Coolest Oldsmobile Ever Built

Faults:

The complex front wheel drive transmission was a total loss, though the mechanic said it was probably serviced incorrectly before (not surprising, it's a rare bird).

Lots of little things went wrong, which wasn't so bad, except that the car was 30 years old and very hard to find parts for.

General Comments:

Probably the coolest Oldsmobile ever made, my 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado (this review category spells the name wrong) has tons of power, unique front wheel drive and aggressive looks. I understand only a comparitive few were built, which makes it quite collectable and hard to find parts for. You can have your Camaros, 57 Chevys and the like. It's hardly economical, and the high high compression ratio does not like low octane fuel, but it's a blast to drive. I've driven it literally from California to New Jersey and it just runs and runs. If you can find one, can afford to feed it, and have a line on parts, get one.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
