General Comments:

I absolutely adore this car. It was given to me by my Grandfather 2 years before he passed away and therefore holds a lot of sentimental value to me.

This car has seen me through good times and bad and has always been there for me.

It spits and sputters sometimes when she is started, but she always warms to a gentle word and keeps on going and going and going.

This car has made Mechanics jaws drop as they have gone to inspect her thinking to find a lot of rust and wear and tear, and each time she has rewarded them with a gleam in her eye and a glowing report.

I came close to selling her once as I was financially down and could not afford to keep repairing/maintaining her. However, my other car was in a car accident and I desperately needed transportation as my car is my work. The little beast came through for me, choking her way around the city for 6 hours at night doing deliveries then coming to a quiet rest at home every morning.

She was recently in the shop to have her exhaust system overhauled and once again, the mechanic was highly impressed.

I would not part with this car for all the gold in the world. Deciding to keep her was the best decision I have ever made. She is my beast, my best friend and my sunny sky on a cloudy day.

I would recommend this car to anyone who has a heart. She has yet to disappoint me. I love you beast!!!

This is sick.

1986 Plymouth Horizon 1.6

Summary:

This thing is a piece of junk that goes forever

Faults:

The radiator blew out on it today. Still ran like hell until I got home though.

It has a broken front seat had to weld it back into place to repair the broken bolt.

Damn thing leaks oil like a refinery.

The hydraulic arms in hatch are shot.

All five door seals leak, that includes the hatch.

All the door handles are screwed up in some way or another, rear passenger handle is gone completely.

The windshield leaks the whole way across the top.

The rear center brake light is loose.

The carburetor is nearly worn out on it, has to be primed on a regular basis, usually once a week.

The starter blew out at 103000.

The cooling fan wires melted and had to be replaced.

General Comments:

The thing runs like hell and never stops.

It is used on a nearly daily basis as a response vehicle for firefighting applications. It's also used a a pizza delivery vehicle

It seems to go for weeks on a single tank of gas, and only needs about twenty bucks to fill it.

You're using a 1986 Horizon as a response vehicle for firefighting calls?- and for pizza delivery?

Cold pizza is one thing, but have to question the appropriateness of relying on this vehicle for possible life or death situations?

1986 Plymouth Horizon

Summary:

The Stall Master

Faults:

This was my first car & it was never reliable. It left me stranded so many times that it's a miracle that some psycho didn't attack me on the side of the road. (This was before cell phones were popular.)

The car stalled numerous times. I would often pop open the hood & hit some part with a screwdriver & that would fix it temporarily.

The car never had heat. (not fun living in a cold climate)

One garage refused to work on because he said the car was junk & not worth his time.

After the car spent 2 days at another garage, I had stopped at the gas station on my way home & it died again & had to be towed back.

General Comments:

I'm sure there are some well made American cars out there, but I haven't driven one yet.

Don't feel bad I had a 1986 Plymouth Horizon once, it didn't stall, but the heater sucked and it took forever to start in the cold weather.

Sounds like you never took care of it.

Heat sucks?..Replace the thermostat..3 dollar part.. a monkey could do it in no more than ten minutes.

Fix the fuel lines, that solved the problem for mine.
