1994 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.1 V6

Summary:

Excellent Car! One of the best Used Vehicles You Can Get For Your Money

Faults:

Mechanically this car is wonderful. But, when it comes to electronics, you'll have a lot of problems. The power mirror switch no longer works. My door lock switches, no longer work. The driver's side window falls off track and sideways into the door when you roll it down, and the passenger side window sticks a little. Other than that, the main concerns I've had are the braking system, and the alignment. It takes a very long time to get stopped, and the brakes have been known to lock up which can be scary. And no matter how many times you have it aligned, it will still pull to the right. The only major repairs I have had to make were a replaced alternator, and new tire-rod ends. Nothing major.

General Comments:

I love this car so much despite the troubles it might have. But, when it comes down to it, I'd rather have problems with my windows and switches, than have a car with a bad engine. This car still starts on the first try every-time like it's brand new, and at 129,000 miles I find that impressive. This car will fly... it is definitely a cop-magnet, but it handles great. The gas-mileage is average, but can get expensive these days. And, you couldn't have a more comfortable car. (If you can ignore the fact that it is a slightly bumpy ride.) All in all, I wouldn't trade it for the world, and Pontiac makes the best you can buy. I myself scored this car for only $2,400.00 2 years ago, and I'm glad I chose this one.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 3.1 V6

Summary:

Excellent car for the cost

Faults:

Driver's side door does not lock.

Rear factory deck speakers blew.

Radio antennae was bent, needed replacement.

Delco radio unit needed replacement for cosmetic reasons, nothing mechanical.

General Comments:

This car was a beauty when I saw it at the dealership. It was $2900, and after a test drive I knew it was well worth the money.

Nothing mechanically was wrong with the car, even Carfax gave back a very favorable report.

Gas mileage is a little on the weak side, due to as a friend mentioned, California emission controls, and I have noticed it.

The overall interior size is kinda snug for me, being a 280 lb football player for college, quite a difference from my old Delta 88.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE Quad 4

Summary:

If you start to fix it, keep it

Faults:

Well recently a lot has gone wrong.

The dashboard has always made noises while driving. The noise is rather annoying.

If you put your hand on the dash the noises stop. Take it off starts back up again.

My speakers don't know if they want to work sometimes. I still have the factory deck.

Seat belt buckle tops fell off.

I put in a new transmission and a new control arm.

The A/C and heater knob broke.

The Radiator cracked today.

Passenger seat doesn't move forward or back.

The door jams fell down so I took them off.

The vents broke I have replaced those.

General Comments:

I like my car. Although almost everything on it I have replaced. I have put more money into it then the actual value of it.

Engine (Quad 4) is good. Very good on gas.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.1 V6

Summary:

An Overall Great, Reliable Ride

Faults:

At 123,000 the power-window elevators went, I am yet to repair that. At 123,500, the intake manifold gasket blew and cost $300. And these cars tend to go through brakes nearly every year, but aside from that, this has been an awesome car.

General Comments:

This is a very nice car. Very comfortable. With a good amount of power and torque. I am very satisfied with it. And has been relatively problem-free, and low- maintenance.
