1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 4 door QUAD DOH

Summary:

Best Thing I ever Did!

Faults:

So far the car has had two problems. The first problem was with the heater core. It had to be replaced due to an Anti-Freeze leak that I discovered one morning in the snow. There was a hole in the heater core, and it cause the Anti-Freeze to leak. Cost me $374 to fix, but it's a small price to pay for the enjoyment I have had with this car.

The next thing that happened was the power steering belt went. It seems when I bought the car, it was already gone. It cost $80 to fix, and it was perfect.

General Comments:

Wonderful car. It gets me where I need to go. The transmission is smooth, and the engine is nice and loud, so I can show it off to my friends. Car accelerates quickly and though I would say I kind of beat it up a little, it hasn't had any engine problems.

One of the best parts of the car is the stock speakers. They are amazing. They makes it sound like the car has a full system in it.

It has kept clean, and it looks awesome. The fog lights and the paint make it look like a $40,000 car. I would suggest buying this car.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am

Summary:

High performance bargain

Faults:

Nothing really has gone wrong with it.

For the time that I have owned the car I only needed inspections, oil changes, and brakes.

The car didn't pass inspection the last time I've had it done because of the emissions. The older the car the harder it is to pass.

I now need a new frame and radiator because I hit a tree.

General Comments:

I hit a tree and I'm still alive.

I car takes an impact very well, theres hardly any major damage.

I car has great pickup when merging on major highways.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2.3 Quad OHC

Summary:

Very great car if you want speed and comfort!

Faults:

There have not been many problems with the car. Since I have had it I have replaced a few light bulbs, which is to be expected. The alternator went bad, had to get a new one. Now with 145,000 miles on it the fuel pump is about dead. Needs new battery. Compressor just died on me.

General Comments:

I really love this car, its got great comfort and hugs the corners.

Its got decent acceleration, with all the miles it has on it.

Great on gas.

Transmission is very responsive.

Great car.

1994 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2.3 liter

Summary:

Grand am or Yogo? You decide

Faults:

Electric windows fail to work, front ones don't work back ones barely work.

Upper motor mount been replaced.

Faulty wiring in the ignition switch/starting system which cost 1,000 dollars to fix.

Transmission pump went out about 120000 miles, cost 1,000 dollars.

Problems with the headlights switch.

Alternator replaces about 130000 miles.

Coolant fan motor replaced about 135000 miles.

Oxygen sensor replaced twice.

Rattling noise coming from underneath the vehicle around the exhaust.

Replaced both front door speakers.

General Comments:

Other than the problems I have listed, I failed to mention the normal wear and tear parts, such as brakes, tires, spark plug boots, ignition coils, some emmission parts. But since I replaced all of these parts, it has been modestly reliable. I have had very little problems since 140,000 miles to present. I do like to mention that the horn on these models are located on the air-bag system, you have to exert more pressure on these than you would any other cars. I fail to use my horn due to the ft. lbs of requirement it takes. Driving comfort is a challenge, it seems the drivers seat is too low and the pedals are at a disadvantage. But do have some good points for the car, drives smooth, alignment is good and consistent, acceleration is good for a 4 cylinder, style is good, paint is good, overall the only way I would buy another grand am is if I can buy it real cheap.
