2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT 3.4 Ram air

Summary:

This car is the best bang for the buck on the market

Faults:

Nothing at all has gone wrong with this car.

General Comments:

When I was looking for a new car, the Pontiac Grand Am GT caught my attention with its looks and price. The first thing that I did was to look at the carsurvey.org. I saw that either you love or hate this car. Well I am here to say I think that it is amazing. Push on the gas, it hauls, jerk the wheel in a tight corner, and it holds. Best of all though, it is still a four door grocery-getter that looks like a sports car.

Very impressed with your comments on the GT. You were very honest with your comments concerning your electrical. Just purchased a GT looking forward to it.

2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT1 3.4 V6

Summary:

This car is a piece of crap. DO not waste your money. Buy a Honda and you'll be happier

Faults:

Where do I start? The drivers side door leaks water into the back seat where your feet go every time it rains, were talking like 1/2 an inch of water on the floor!

The heat/ac does not work on the 1 or 2 fan speeds.

The turn signal relays constantly click while I'm driving, so annoying!

My brakes/rotors grind.

I have ran out of gas twice because the gage told me I had over 1/4 of a tank of gas.

The dome light has fell down.

My most recent problem is that where the exhaust pipe comes out of the back of the engine there is a flexible joint that has broken so my car is LOUD as heck, kind of fun, but not supposed to be that way!

My cruise control button also sticks when I turn it on.

Also, when I acceleratemy "low coolant" light bings at me three times then the light goes off.

General Comments:

I like the way the car preforms. It is all the little crap that goes wrong that I know is not my fault yet I have eto pay for it. Having read through all of your problems I wonder if there is a class action law suit that I can get in on. I feel like I bought a brand new lemon. So far I have had no engine trouble so thank god. I can barely make my car payments let alone have to spend $300 a pop every time some stupid little thing goes wrong. Over all I would not recommend this car to my worst enemy. I never thought I would say this, but buy a Honda or something foreign. No more GM cars for me that's for sure.

If you find that class action lawsuit, let me in on it too. Sounds like you're describing my car. I just wrote a review about mine on 9/30/03. The grinding from front end I thought was brakes/rotors, turned out to be bad tire design. I noticed the new grand ams don't have that tire. (Not that I plan on ever buying another one)

2000 Pontiac Grand Am GL 4 Cylinder

Summary:

A piece of CRAP, don't buy one!

Faults:

The a/c / heater does not work on 1 or 2.

My blinkers short out 90% of the time I am driving.

My battery dies if the car is not running even if it is only for two minutes with the radio on.

I did go out to start my car and won't turn over.

So I had the fuel filter replaced, Nothing.

IF I detach the air filter from the engine and spray this gas stuff straight into the engine the car starts, but as soon as the gas evaporates the car dies.

I do not recomend buying this car what so ever!

It's hard to take your review seriously because they don't make a Grand Am called a GL. Although my blinkers don't work 75% of the time either - they are going to do a recall (finally!) on 2000/2001 Grand Am, Aleros and Malibus for that problem so keep checking your mail, they said it should be sent out in the first quarter of 2004.
