1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3.8 V6

Summary:

Awesomeness

Faults:

I have had my 99 Grand Prix GT for one full year. I would have to say that for a first car, it was amazing. It has never really needed any maintenance, and it is a good looking car. It also had amazing acceleration, I love it.

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1L

Summary:

It's a beast and I love it

Faults:

Some kind of engine ticking when I start up the car, but I don't believe it's anything serious.

There have been a few leaks, but that's common.

Brakes are getting a bit squeaky and noisy, might need to be replaced, but they're working fine.

I haven't really had anything serious with the car, minus my couple of times where I crashed a bit, but other than that, nothing major yet.

General Comments:

It's quite a car, I love it. It's fast, handles great, reliable, and rumbles beautifully with the exhaust I have put on it.

Looks great inside and out, the Bose stereo sounds great, this car has been through a few little races and has been victorious, trunk has plenty of room.

I wish it had a sunroof and passenger seat heater, but that no big deal.

The engines great, it will take whatever I give it, I have been driving this car a lot and put it through a lot so far, and it will take it all with no problem, it should last me a good few years. I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants a nice, fun, fast, sexy car, that's got plenty of room for whatever.

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix SE 3.1 V6

Summary:

More car than I bargained for

Faults:

This car has been a very good car to me, but a few things have gone wrong, which I know are regular maintenance.

At 1535000, the tie rods went out. Thankfully I was at the dealership when it happened, that was $300.

Then a few months after that, the blower motor went out due to water in motor area, and the resistor went out, as well as the battery, which all ran me $360.

Just for the record, me and cars do not get along.

General Comments:

Other than that, the car is wonderful. I have paced the trunk full and back seat full of wood, and it never bogs down.

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8 V6 Supercharged

Summary:

This car is a beast!!!

Faults:

Recall on the head gasket valve; they fix it for free though.

Kind of expensive to have repairs or to have the engine serviced.

General Comments:

This car has excellent handling and awesome performance.

Fast and roomy.

Best car on the road.

Good gas mileage also (that's important these days).

Fun to drive on interstate or in the mountains.

Excellent traction.

My friend says it looks like an airplane cockpit on the inside, but most of the buttons are for the radio.

Easy to maintain if you take care of it.

1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 3.8

Summary:

Everything I was looking for

Faults:

I have noticed when it rains outside, that water is getting on the floor board and soaking my carpet, and it's a drip from underneath the glove box on the passenger side of the car. I cannot locate exactly where or why it's doing this. We have had a lot of rain in one week and I've just had to soak up with lots of towels. Anyone know of this problem or what it possibly could be, please let me know, I would great appreciate it. Thanks.

General Comments:

I bought this car from an individual back in April 2008, and it's the perfect car for me, I love it.

Runs great, no problems, has a lot of miles, but what do you expect for a 1999 and the price I paid for it when I was looking.

Here's a thread on another forum with a way to fix your leaking problem. Very common problem with this car.
