2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharged

Summary:

It pushes you back into the seat

Faults:

Nothing currently, too new.

My trunk hood looks a little askew, will take to the dealer to see if adjustments are needed before water gets in. I detailed it with a custom polymer and when you are that close to it you notice that the trunk is not symetrical or the plastic add-ons on the right rear door are off and sticking out more than the others. That's all for now.

General Comments:

This is my first front wheel drive car and it goes in a straight line quickly. I have not been too hard on the engine, I let it warm up, check the fluids, etc. I bought it in Los Angeles under the GMS program, and I am having it trucked to Virginia where I will be working. Currently it is on the way to Virgina. It is a black GTP with all options, and I am very happy with it.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Nothing as of yet - but I mentioned earlier that the trunk lid seems to be off centered. I should have the dealer look at this.

The right rear door plastic protector ding thing if off significantly. I should have the dealer look at this.

2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8L V-6 supercharged

Summary:

The next best thing to a woman

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

I like to think of it as a poor man's BMW. Perfomance is a blend of performance/luxury, family car. The supercharged engine provides strong acceleration throughout the entire power curve. The car stops and turns on a dime.

Other things that add to the total driving experience are the heads up display; Bose eight speaker sound system; supportive leather seating; radio controls on the steering wheel and many other items.

The best advice I can give is for you to get off the couch, head down to your local Pontiac dealer and ask to test drive one of these beauties: to know one is to love one.

In the year 2000 I wanted one of the GTP Grand Prixs so bad, but I could not afford it then, and I'm glad I could not, because when the GTP Special Edition came out in 2001 I had the money for one and purchased it.

I am so happy with the performance and comfort of the car. I also think it is pretty cool to have everyone looking at the car when I go down the road, those hood vents really stand out and make the car look mean.

The Pontiac dealer was really nice and I would encurage anyone to go and test drive a new Grand Prix today.

I bought a Grand Prix in July, but it was a 2000, and I wouldn't buy the 2001 one special edition because my Grand Prix is headed to SLP engineering and is going to be cheaper. Just another thought.

How about my 2001 Grand Prix special edition GTX with the slp ram air hood, it's a head turner alright - the aggressive ram air, and the roof fences, and two toned leather. You have to back up to look at this beauty.

I passed on the Special Edition because the mandatory sun roof lowered the interior headroom by 1-1/2" and, at 6"4" tall, my head touches the headliner. Two tone leather looks nice but my experience with leather is not good (hot in summer, cold in winter, and cracks or splits in a year or two). Ordered navy blue metallic with bright polish wheels and it looks great.

I bought A 2002 GT A couple months ago and I love it. I live in the Mojave Desert and the car really performs on these smooth open roads. The interior is very comfortable, I'm 6'3" but still have plenty of leg room. I also like it's sporty lines. No complaints here.
