1988 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3L. turbo

Summary:

Very close to perfection in a street/race car!

Faults:

Timing chain, clutch, and Turbo all replaced @ 100,000 miles.

Drivers seat side bolster wearing through from butt rubbing.

General Comments:

Still the best looking car Porsche has put out in my opinion.

Not the fastest car on the road anymore, but still wins most stop-light races.

Handles like a truck at low speeds, she needs to get above 60 mph- which happens very quickly. I've had her up to 135mph on the way home from work, felt like sitting on my living room couch!

You get great feedback from the steering wheel and through the seats. You know exactly what the car is doing at all times. Not the car for the luxury car crowd that wants to be isolated from the road. This is a grunting, mean, snarling little beeotch!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

He is right. Real nasty car on the road. I have a 88 coupe 107,000 miles. on it. Still looks mint, Ca. car.

I have people asking me all the time about it. Or they say. DO YOU WANT TO SELL IT?

I have been driving a 911 since 1980. I have not ever bought any other car since. If it fits your life style and you like a little race car, the 87, 88, and 89 cars are lots of fun.

I am addicted to it.

Tom.
