2006 SAAB 9-5 Combi 2.3L turbo

Summary:

Great utility and looks!

Faults:

Very little has gone wrong. I had to replace the crank sensor (common issue) and replaced the DI Cassette due to high mileage. Now the fuel level sensor is out, and that requires dropping the tank to replace. I may do it myself, not sure yet, but not a terribly expensive part.

The only gripe is the rust that is bad on the rear hatch (this being a Combi) that I am constantly working on. But I live in the rust-belt midwestern USA and use it to go to work, encountering a lot of road salt.

General Comments:

Very happy with the utility, performance, looks and mpg of my 9-5. I now own 3 of them and all get using on an almost daily basis. The 06 is my newest but high-mileage unit. These mark close to 30 Saabs that I have owned since 1983, from 96 to 90s to 9000s.

2006 SAAB 9-5 2.3

Summary:

This is a very fun/fast/comfortable sedan

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

This has to be one of the most comfortable, easiest driving vehicles that we have ever owned. My wife drives 200 km a day for work, and it is very efficient mileage wise. We are getting 8l/100km with average speed of 88 km/hr (city and highway).

We only have one model in Canada, I think it is equivilant to the Aero, 2.3l Turbo, 260 h.p.

The only options we have are ventilated seats.

For $42K CAN, it was a bargain, heated seats, (front and back) moon roof, 5 spd man.

We love this car.
