2000 Saturn L300 LS V6

Faults:

We have just bought the l300 2000 and because of some of the advice I have read here, I just changed the TPS or throttle positioning system because the car would just stall while driving down the road. That seems to have fixed that problem, new problem now, it idles at 500 rpm, shakes badly and wants to stall. Spark plugs and gas filter were recently changed. I don't know if I would recommend this car yet... will definitely let you know when we come to and end of the troubles...

2000 Saturn L300 L 3 LITER

Summary:

Lemon law

Faults:

Mass air flow sensor went

Excessive tire wear

Power steering leak

Coolant leak from oil cooler

Stalling problem

Replaced cps

Wheel bearing (cv) joint and axle replaced.

General Comments:

The crank position sensor seem to solve my hot no start problem. Thank you to the guy who posted that one.

I fixed the coolant leak by just buying the sealer for gm $10 and cleaning and resealing. I feel for the people who don't do their own repairs with this car it has had far too many problems.

2000 Saturn L300

Summary:

For 10K more buy a nice dependable Toyota or Subaru and avoid the repairs

Faults:

At 38,000 frozen ignition - replaced lock cylinder (refunded) at 40k intermediate steering linkage replacement (paid for labor) at 50K replaced tail light assemblies. Saturn recall. Still unidentified front end noise (Strut?) Presently - frozen odometer (Faulty Body Control Module) (If the Body Control Module loses its ground it could be toast) Is there any hope of this being a recall? I plan on sending my bill to Saturn headquarters with a firm letter. Please join the chorus.

General Comments:

This wagon has plenty of pep and power to pass logging trucks.

Handles well (Knocking noises excluded) and is a pleasure to drive.

I do await my next mechanical nightmare with a bottle of anti-depressants handy.
