2005 Saturn L300 3.0 V6

Summary:

The Saturn L300 is a stylish and compenent alternative to the more popular midsize sedans

Faults:

Nothing so far, but it only has 1400 miles on it, so that shouldn't be a surprise! The brakes seem to generate a lot of dust, though.

General Comments:

We really like the L300. The styling pleased both my wife and I, and it's nice to stand out a little from the sea of Accords and Camrys.

It certainly has pep, much more so than our Honda. The smallish gas tank and V6 thirst really seems to limit the range, though.

For 2005 Saturn has decided to drop the L300, so they are packaging a lot of equipment and offering decent incentives. The chrome rims are included, as well as a power seat (both options I would never have chosen!).

The electronic throttle control takes some getting used to, but I'm used to driving a manual shift.

The dealer seems to be very nice and helpful, a big change from the Honda / Mazda dealers we have dealt with before.

Overall we are very pleased with the car, and hope it continues to be as reliable.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Just an addition to the review I wrote above. We're up to 10000 miles now and still no trouble at all. The mileage has improved to 23 in town and about 28 on the highway. We both enjoy driving the car--the V6 continues to surprise us with its power, and the car rides very well on the highway. You'd be surprised how much you can fit in the trunk, too.

If you're in the market for a mid-size car, it's worth a look at the local Saturn dealer to see if they have any left on the lot... there are high incentives to try to get these cars off the lot. This, however, has pushed the resale value into the toilet. Fortunately, this is a car that one can enjoy owning for a long period of time.
