1989 Shelby CSX-VNT turbo IV

A true domestic exotic

Faults:

A true domestic exotic, but finding capable dealers and mechanics who understand such an advanced turbo setup has been a challenge.

General Comments:

Violently fast on the street, and when in proper tune, a true 150 + mph vehicle. Oh did I mention the big block type power band? The Chrysler 4 cylinder has to be one of the most durable and versatile engine ever. This vehicle has unbelievable response and acceleration.

The VNT system is years ahead of its time, and when properly maintained, very reliable. Indeed, racers and manufacturers alike are just now starting to implement some of the technology used in this vehicle.

1989 Shelby CSX-VNT 2.2 vnt-turbo

Summary:

The fastest stock four cylinder ever, eats V8 for dinner

Faults:

When I first purchased the car it overheated frequently, this was due to a bad radiator,it's fixed now a runs like a beast.

Other than that the car has had no problems since I purchased it a about 2 years ago.

General Comments:

Cars is lightning fast.

Handles like a dream.

Turbo is very reliable and pumps out a tone of boost, 14 psi.

Cheap to run and worth a lot of money.

Collector car.

Summary:

A collectible pocket rocket that won't disappoint!

Faults:

Clutch was worn when I got it.

Power steering system was neglected by the previous owner, had P/S pump replaced.

Replaced driver side C/V shaft.

General Comments:

Great car for the money!

Handles unbelievably well.

Engine has gobs of torque all over the rev range.

Engine is smooth and solid, even after 13 years of use.
