2006 Toyota 4Runner

Summary:

The product needs to be more reliable

Faults:

At 121,000 miles, the transmission had to replaced. This SUV had been serviced at all regular intervals and the car was meticulously taken care of. The Toyota dealer (and seller of the car to me) were just amazingly bad in their handling of this situation.

General Comments:

I have purchased Toyotas for the past twenty years. I will buy a Hyundai (200,000 mile drive trans warranty) from now on.

2006 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 Sport Edition 4.8 V8

Summary:

Awesome

Faults:

Nothing at all!

General Comments:

The car is a great buy. When I purchased the car I was a little worried that this car would be a headache. But since I've owned the car I have not had any issues with it other than the normal wear and tear. This car handles great, and its off-roading capabilities are awesome. The only thing that annoys me is when I drop it into low 4x4 mode, the car beeps continuously until it is switched back to high 4x4 mode. I've towed with this car and barely noticed a difference. The JBL 10 speaker system is awesome. Good sound quality! Great Buy!

The 4LO beeps because it is not in 4WD. You need to put the truck in neutral first then switch to 4LO.

As the above commenter stated, you must either stop and... or place the transmission into neutral while rolling. 4WD LOW is not in any way designed to be used at higher speeds than 30km/h, as those may seriously damage the mechanism.
