2023 Toyota Crown Limited 2.5

Summary:

Wind noise makes the car undrivable on long highway trips

Faults:

I have purchased this car after a test drive around local roads near the dealer. After having the car for a week I drove the car on the highway at 70 mph and noticed a large wind buffeting noise from the driver's door. The dealer attempted to fix this by changing the door seal, window seal and sealed some welds in the door frame. Nothing worked. A factory rep came in and examined the car and said there is noise there, but he considers it acceptable and declared the problem resolved. I am also on the Toyota Crown forum where the number one complaint is wind noise from the driver's door.

General Comments:

Terrible wind noise problem

Quite shocking for a modern car.

1997 Toyota Crown xle 3.0 V6 24 valve

Summary:

"best car ever"

Faults:

What has went wrong with this car. Since I have owned this car I have had very few mechanical issues.

I had to replace a fuel sensor at 120000km and other than that nothing mechanically other than regular tune-ups.

Other things that have went wrong include.

The sunroof motor quit working and I had to replace that.

Mt trunk latch wire broke and I had to get that replaced along with a few fuses that are for the after-market heated seats.

The drivers seat is starting to wear a little bit where you climb in.

General Comments:

This car has been very reliable. Since the car is getting older, I notice the power coming form the V6 is "starting slowly" to diminish.

The seats are very comfortable and with the heat, they are AWSOME.

I really like the traction control, I couldn't believe it when I passed a Toyota rav4 that was stuck on my crescent.

One complaint about the Toyota service is that when they balanced the wheels they put the balancers on the outside of the aluminum rim, all the finish is now starting to peel.

1974 Toyota Crown supersaloon 2.6

Summary:

The 1974 Toyota Crown Supersaloon was the best car Toyota made for it's time

Faults:

Rear wheel bearings went at 58,000 miles... same with hand brake cable from under dash...,starter motor..., and front disc pad..., pinion bearing and seal...,front solid rotors and seals. Front seats began showing wear at 58,000 miles, but have been replaced with better seats from Crown 112. All the above at 58,000 miles.

General Comments:

Car is much faster off the line because the head received 5 angle valve job... port work to open up head..., forged pistons with C/r of 11:1 Carburetor was re jetted to deliver more fuel, MSD/AL6 with 60,000 volt ignition coil, electric fuel pump, 8.5 mm coil wires...,uprated alternator... uprated oil pump..., 2.5" exhaust system, stiffer springs giving car a firmer ride with adjustable shocks...100% sound proof... car yet have 8 track with am/fm/short wave radio,...12 cd changer with twin amplifier... one for front speakers and the other for rear speakers... uprated head lamp bulbs as opposed to seal beam.

I think this car has done many more kilometers than is indicated.

I agree with the previous comment... why put ANY money into what may arguably be called one of the homeliest cars ever built. Even with your enhancements I doubt you could get more than a grand for this turkey!
