2003 Volkswagen Golf GL 2.0 Liter

Summary:

An expensive car that feels expensive

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

This car is fun to drive around town, but lacks highway power. However, it handles well and is generally fun to drive.

While the VW is a bit more expensive than the competition (Civic, Focus, etc.), I believe it to be a good value because it comes standard with equipment that costs extra on other cars. For example, it has anti-lock brakes, side air bags, remote keyless entry and a great sound system with a cd player.

The interior of this vehicle is great. The seats are firm and supportive, much like more expensive German sedans. The dashboard lights are a really cool bluish purple with red accents.

2003 Volkswagen Golf GLS 1.9 turbo diesel

Summary:

The Golf GLS TDI offers the advantages of compact while satisfying the urges of the car enthusiast.

Faults:

So far, so good. Overall reliability has been outstanding. No faults.

General Comments:

Feels very solid and well made. A truly fun car to drive.

Seats are firm and comfortable, and controls are easy to reach and use. Best interior of any car I've ever owned. Shifting action was a bit stiff when new, but has loosened nicely.

It still sounds like a diesel, but you can't hear the engine from inside the car. Gas mileage is excellent, and the engine feels responsive and runs cool. Decent power, not overwhelming, but more than adequate.

Great handling, precise steering, easy to park.

I like the looks of the car very much. The Golf has that classic "Euro" style that separates it from the hoards of compact cars out there... which is why I didn't buy the Jetta.

A solid purchase. I'm very happy with my Golf. It is one car that didn't disappoint me; it is exactly what I thought it would be.

2003 Volkswagen Golf GLS 2.0

Summary:

A perfectly well rounded vehicle that you will enjoy to the end!

Faults:

So far absolutely nothing and I don't expect anything to go wrong, this is a great car and everyone who has ever owned one will tell you the same.

General Comments:

The best hatchback under 20g's out there! The 2.0 engine which has 115 horsepower and 122 lb-ft torque is surprisingly quick and takes off. The interior is luxurious and well designed. This is a true German made car, you feel very safe in this car.

Tops in fuel economy, high quality, fun to drive

Faults:

Windscreen washer fluid warning light.

General Comments:

Great car. Getting 40-50 mpg. Tight structure, comfortable ride. Quality interior. Excessive body lean in corners. TDI engine is wonderful for everyday driving because of its torque.
