1951 Willys CJ-3A Buick 225 V6

Summary:

Cute, Loud, Tough, and Rare

Faults:

No problems.

General Comments:

This Jeep has been well taken care of, and although not stock, is a lot of fun to drive.

Definitely a head-turner and very fun in the summertime. I don't drive it in the winter as it has no heater and brrrr! It stays in the garage during the winter.

The seats are out of a passenger car and are not adjustable. We plan on replacing them with low profile racing seats due to the lack of leg room.

My feet fall asleep if I drive it too long. I have to pull over and get out and stretch. It is a very small vehicle and is not designed for more than two people to ride comfortably.

Very hardy and would climb straight up a tree if we let it. This jeep does not go very fast, but is very quick with the 225 engine. Top speed is about 55-60 MPH with an aftermarket overdrive. It is very loud and you have to yell to talk with the person sitting 2 feet away. This Jeep definitely is powerful and almost rears up from low gear if you press the pedal too much.

I am not sure how much miles are on the vehicle, but we just had the engine rebuilt and have put about 800 miles on it this past summer. Very strong running, fun, stylish Jeep.

I like the basic look of the dash as compared to the new "luxury" Jeeps. You won't find any bells and whistles on this unit. This one is built for the tough and fun in the rough! It is much smaller and narrower than the new Jeeps, which gives it the feel of an amusement park ride.

These Jeeps are hard to find, especially without any rust - I got lucky. It is very important to give this Jeep a thorough going over every now and again to tighten down bolts and check the under carriage. This is because the harmonics tend to rattle things loose and if you take it off-road, the under carriage can get pretty tore up.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
