Faults:

Initially it needed some work, bought it from a dealer that got it as a trade in, but they didn't want to fix it, sold it as-is.

Replaced clutch and flywheel.

Weather stripping loose and worn.

Front wishbones, tie rods and shocks.

Ran uneven, various problems including EGR, various sensors. Just blasted the parts cannon and replaced more or less all engine sensors (MAF, crankshaft, temperature, etc).

Oil leak fixed.

General Comments:

After fixing various things, the car was generally reliable after that and gave me a lot of fun. Inspiring to drive, handling was very good and I loved the styling and design.

Less boring than a Golf.

Engine was a real gem, frugal and a lot of torque. Not a rocket but I felt I always had enough usable power.

Faults:

Leakage from right front wing caused wet carpets. Dealer used two weeks to fix. Car's been dry since.

Some occasional rattles from dashboard and passenger door.

Driver's seat (leather) is very noisy when shifting weight. Appearantly easy to sort out.

Keep getting "Rear fog light failure" message, even if it is faultless.

A stunning, head-turning car with a general good quality. It's a sublime drive - even if quality niggles are annoying.
