2008 Alfa Romeo 147 1.9 JTD
Summary:
Good alternative to a VW Golf
Faults:
Initially it needed some work, bought it from a dealer that got it as a trade in, but they didn't want to fix it, sold it as-is.
Replaced clutch and flywheel.
Weather stripping loose and worn.
Front wishbones, tie rods and shocks.
Ran uneven, various problems including EGR, various sensors. Just blasted the parts cannon and replaced more or less all engine sensors (MAF, crankshaft, temperature, etc).
Oil leak fixed.
General Comments:
After fixing various things, the car was generally reliable after that and gave me a lot of fun. Inspiring to drive, handling was very good and I loved the styling and design.
Less boring than a Golf.
Engine was a real gem, frugal and a lot of torque. Not a rocket but I felt I always had enough usable power.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I'm interested to know if they traced where the water was leaking in. Mine is doing the same thing and I am about to take it to the dealer for them to have a look.
