1976 Leyland Princess 1800 HL 1.8 petrol

Summary:

Falling apart, absolute sh@te

Faults:

Basically everything, the car was literally falling apart around us.

Hidden structural rust.

Endless electrical gremlins, replaced alternator and starter. Fuel gauge lived its own life. Even with a new alternator, new regulator and new battery, it would not charge properly. Lights never worked properly, etc.

In the end we simply gave up.

General Comments:

Very comfortable and good to drive, but horrible, horrible, horrible build quality.

We paid 300 Euro for it (3000 NOK), but that was probably way too much. Looked pretty nice when we bought it, but the car had hidden rust that was pretty bad.

My sister's car, but I tried to keep it on the road for her. Had to give up. Simply too many problems. Has to be one of the worst cars ever produced. Have had Italian cars from the 70ies, their build quality is a dream in comparison.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
