1980 Peugeot 604 STi 2.8 V6 petrol
Summary:
Ultimate French luxury barge
Faults:
Bought as a non runner.
First changed battery .
Found that it didn't get fuel, so changed fuel pump and one fuel hose.
Starter ran but didn't engage, so disassembled and cleaned - fixed.
Same with alternator, cleaned since it was full of rust and dirt.
Got it started but it barely ran, cleaned injectors and some bad connections in the engine bay wiring harness, then worked perfectly.
Fixed rust in both sills, generally it was rust free elsewhere, just some surface rust.
Partial sand blast and respray and tidying up to get it more presentable.
General Comments:
Bought as a flip car. Didn't run but fixed quite easily. Just shows how many useless dealers there are, since according to them it was "impossible" to get this car running.
Very comfortable. Like sitting in your sofa. Very quiet. Silky smooth engine and transmission. My 5 series (daily driver) felt almost like a tractor in comparison. Stylish in its own weird way. More luxury than a 5 series or even a 3 litre Opel Senator. Maybe I should have kept it?
Sold for 4 times the purchase price. Easy money.
