1991 SAAB 9000 CSE 2.3 turbo

Summary:

Troublesome comfortable sleeper

Faults:

Almost everything. Just before acquiring it the head gasket had blown.

Air conditioning had to be refilled.

Lambda sensor became faulty (and the garage could not be certain that THAT was the problem and demanded I pay about 600 USD so that they could order the part and TRY).

A part of the air intake fell out and made the car behave VERY strange (very easy fix though).

Exhaust had to be replaced.

CV joint boot got damaged.

Leak of water into the boot from the connector between the roof and the boot lid.

Top cover gasket blew.

Oil leak from an expensive tube between oil cooler and the transmission.

Started to get a rattle when I turned right and accelerated and I couldn't locate the problem.

General Comments:

Beautiful car to drive, very comfortable, silent, nice seats.

Mileage quite good for such a large and quick car.

The car ended upside down after loosing grips in 90 km/h on an icy road and hitting the roadside. I walked out with no damages. Safe car.

TOO many hassles.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
