It is OK, but keep this in mind that this is the most economical car in the Pakistan and is known as a family car. Its spare parts are very cheap and freely available as compared to any other car. One more and very important point is that it is understood that this car can't be used for terrorism, as it is not capable of accelerating and gaining speed so rapidly. So this car has to face less routine checking by Police.

If your life is empty and you have no self respect and dignity then you are qualified to buy Mehran. No ABS, no safety features, no comfort drive, or else, buy a Cuore! Cuore is far better car to buy in 4-4.5 lac budget, economical as Mehran. It has radio, 5 speed and power window and above all better looking, faster. What else do you want?

2005 Suzuki Mehran Limited Edition 0.8 petrol

Summary:

Budget vehicle, but generally reliable

Faults:

Indicators, air conditioning, heater control, front section of exhaust, left side lights fuse blowing intermittently due to left (near side) rear side light bulb internal fault, interior light switch sticking and horn switch in the centre of the steering wheel has collapsed from the off side (right).

General Comments:

The car does what it says on the tin! It is an A-to-B vehicle and does not pertain to be anything else. I have found it reliable with a few minor faults. The car sits happily at 120 KPH on the motorway, also managing 130 KPH downhill! From an 800cc 3 cylinder petrol engine that is amazing. I have clocked up mainly motorway miles rather than city driving. I still do not know what the economy is, but I think it is poor for a 800cc engine because it is carbureted.

2005 Suzuki Mehran VX 0.8 litre

Summary:

Awesome

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Great car.

Reliability is great.

The interior is bland and spartan, they couldn't have made it any more simple, but all real driving cars have plain interiors (Ferrari F40, F50,etc.)

Performance is good for 0.8 litres, blows away almost everything.

Dude, how on earth could you possibly compare the interior of a Mehran with a Ferrari F40?

Oh and it says nothing wrong with the car. Let me tell you whats wrong with the car:

1. Brakes don't work AT ALL, only if you are driving below 30KPH.

2. No Seat belts.

3. The most pathetic interior with the most degraded plastic you could possibly have.

4. The a/c doesn't work in the extreme temperatures of Pakistan.

5. There isn't enough leg space for a person sitting at the back seat of the car.

I can give a lot more if you want. But please don't misguide people by telling a blatant lie of "nothing is wrong with this car"

No engine or assembly related problems after delivery from showroom.

Mehran certainly is the better choice over the competition because of its much lower running and maintenance costs. Plus its fun to drive around town!

I hope the Mehran owner who posted this comment will realize in some time that posting those comments after 250km of driving was a premature comment on Mehran.

26th Jul 2005, 23:03

A car owner that has ran the Mehran only for 250km cannot possibly judge the car truly. The car has not yet passed its break in time. every thing is unpredictable at this point.

I totally agree Suzuki Mehran is not a value for money, people are buying this car only because of lack of competition.

27th Jun 2005, 01:23

I will only say that suzuki mehran is not the worth of your money.

Which car in Pakistan do you think is value for money??? (except for Honda City)

Suzuki cars made in pakistan can be labled "unsafe and any speed, or death on wheels"

2005 Suzuki Mehran VXR 796

Summary:

Price must be in the range of 2.5 lacs to 3.0 lacs Mehran VXR

Faults:

The brakes of Mehran VXR 2005 are real hard to press, and by pressing the pedal 3 to 4 times makes some difference in speed.

General Comments:

The overall engine performance is quite satisfactory, but sometimes a question arises in mind that: Is this the car for which we had paid 3.75 Lacs to 4.25 Lacs? Second thing is this, that the Own money on Suzuki Mehran is one lac, it seems that people are satisfied with this car, because the own money is increasing day by day. This own money is just like a parasite for auto industry, and had made the auto dealers billionair in days, but on the other side it is a great headache for the poeple who want to get a new car.
