1993 Peugeot 405 SRI 1.8 petrol

Summary:

So good I'm buying another one!

Faults:

Clutch was in need of replacement when I bought the car - replaced it two years later :)

After one day in the sun, the dashboard cracked.

Condenser of the A/C gave up last year.

A problem with rust on the roof, for sure not normal in these cars.

Some problems with the central locking

General Comments:

Great car!

Handles great, and it's very comfortable and roomy.

It has enough equipment - central locking, 4 power windows, power steering and A/C.

The fuel consumption is very good. Last confirmed after 2000 km on national road and highway: 7.2 l/100 km.

Unfortunately, it has to go due to the rust on the roof. However, I like it so much I'm buying the exact same model in the estate version!

The SRi was a very well-equipped car for its time, just as you say.

We had one in my family, though we bought it used and the previous owner hadn't taken very good care of it; even so, it didn't give us any major trouble, aside from a worn-out suspension and some rust.

It’s also true that, compared to similar cars like the Vectra or the R21, it was very fuel-efficient, even the versions with the 2.0 engine.

Great car!

1991 Peugeot 405 SRi 1.9 petrol

Summary:

A car for families and drivers, that still amazes many new 2.0 liters owners!

Faults:

Only the usual replacements had to be made.

Interior started do get old and worn, or it wouldn't be French.

General Comments:

It was a fantastic car! A perfect compromise between performance, handling, comfort, space an economy.

It had the essential equipment to me - air conditioning, electric sunroof, electric windows, central locking and power steering.

The thing I liked the most is that appeared to be less than it really was.
