2000 Citroen Xsara VTS 2.0i 16v

Summary:

Mediocrity for highest prices

Faults:

The clutch doesn't work right, it needs to be changed the hole system (not only the disk). Gear Box is affected as well.

The engine cooling system has major problems. It's loosing the hole six liters of liquid during 2 weeks, and the official Citroen dealer in Romania cannot establish the reason or solve the problem.

The servo-steering pipe is loosing pressure as well.

Other details as the really mad rain-sensor which doesn't understand anything of the rain :)

The seats don't move forward.

The radio antenna has always a bad signal and when it rains water comes in through the antenna mount and drops on my hand when I change the gears.

Suspension is very low quality for our roads.

General Comments:

It's performance is good, but only when you reach 3000 rotations per minute. But I never had a car with so many problems at only 50000 kilometers.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I own a second hand Xsara VTS 1999 model, had 76000km and a small front accident.

The engine and gearbox are great, the clutch needs to be replaced, and the driver's seat is not that perfect. Other than that, the car is great, no problems at all, very good on mountain roads, highways (although we could use a sixth gear), great fuel consumption, great cornering and braking and everything.

I use it on a daily basis for 50km minimum, and I love driving it... forgot to mention that I live in Lebanon, and roads can't be worse than that, so...
