2006 Fiat Scudo JTD diesel

Summary:

Very difficult to get replacement parts

Faults:

We bought a Fiat Scudo 2006 model, 8 months ago. For 6 of those months, the van has been in the workshop.

So far we have replaced the alternator, injectors and the head, as well as repaired the radiator.

All this has been done by a local mechanic, and now the van blows white smoke and does not drive. Mind you, we drove the van to the mechanic. This problem has occurred since being in the workshop.

The van now has been taken to the Fiat agent to work out the problem, and they advise that it has a cracked gasket and broken tappets, among other things.

This van cost $21,000. The repairs to date have cost around $10,000. To fix the van now, they are asking over $13,000.

This van has been a real head ache. If you are considering buying a Fiat, think again.

General Comments:

We never really had a chance to drive the van much before it was sent to the workshop. Cannot comment on performance. Just wish it would drive.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
