1991 Subaru Viki M80 0.8

Summary:

A low-maintenance, low budget and economical cute car that is fun to drive!

Faults:

The Air-con unit has a habit of blowing warm air once the car is trap in a traffic jam, or when the car travels at a slow speed for about 10 minutes.

General Comments:

The interior is surprisingly spacious for a car of it's size. This car can definitely take in 4 average sized adults comfortably, but you can't expect much boot space from this car.

The engine sounds very sporty when pushed to the red line. It's surprising that I can still hit almost 140km/h during a few drives up north.

Passengers will tend to hear wind noise when the car travels beyond 75km/h. The engine noise is definitely irritating if you can't stand the sound of it.

Don't expect to corner too fast in this car as the Center Gravity is slightly high.

The suspensions were slightly to the soft side.

A very economical car to own! Low maintenance, low fuel consumption, low road tax too!

I also took mine up north 300km non stop and I hit 145km/h max. Only during down slope. Speed around 100km/h to 120 km/h is good on the highway however need a good wheel alignment and balancing. The air con can do well if you put it to a good aircon mechanic. Mine cools pretty well during jam and highway driving. Except if weather is very hot, it loss quite a bit of cooling power. This little wonder (m80) can be a collector. Very economical and reliable.
