2013 Citroen C3 VTI 82 1.2

Faults:

Nothing, apart from intermittent motor fault indicator (bad contact I suppose).

General Comments:

Bought from private ads, had quite a few owners before. The car feels light and sensitive (steering, brakes), I had to readjust my motor somewhat. 5-speed manual is to be operated calmly and considerate (no reverse block), a bit delicate and first gear has a rather high ratio. Other than that it's useful.

The 3-cyl. engine is quick from the go, it's losing juice in mid revs and with load, pulls a bit more at high revs. All fair enough with 82 hp and 1.000kg kerb weight. The sound is funny but slightly strange, it reminds remotely of a coffee grinder at higher revs. I'm observing the oil and timing belt regularly, but can't hear or see alarming changes yet. I'd estimate this engine is good for some 250.000 km, due to the changes provided.

Interior is OK, a bit plasticky but no worries so far.

The windscreen is a very nice feature as a replacement of sorts for the SAAB convertible. Zenith (high noon that is) means exactly that angle it reaches and it must have been a manufacturing feat delivered by St. Gobain I believe. You can look merrily up the mountains (Glarus, where I live) and it adds to the pleasant lightness all over the car.

Cruise control is very good and relaxing, standard stereo is surprisingly good, it's slack motoring really on long and short runs.

Fuel consumption is not excitingly low, but OK with 5.8l/100km and 110 cruise, up to 170 for short stints, mixed with city traffic.

It's a nice little car and easy with under 4 m in the city yet roomy, quick enough and friendly.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
