1988 Renault 5 TLE-injection 1.4 injection
Summary:
A good car for a good young driver!
Faults:
At about 102'000km clutch and both rear bearings were broken... radiator pipe, alternator were wrong at about 110000km... after that, nothing more broken things... it's a good thing!
General Comments:
I love my car, I painted, upgraded and tuned on my own... I mounted a rear spoiler, speedline aluminium wheels, air blower, hardened shocks, and much more... it was only 57HP when I bought it from an old man... now, on my hands it has 80HP (not bad uh?) and it runs like a rocket, without spending much in fuel ('bout 6.6L/100km)

Only 57 hp for a fuel-injected engine seems low to me, especially considering the 1.4 GTL had 60 hp. It strikes me as a bit odd.
The fuel consumption also seems low, unless, of course, you drive like a grandpa the whole time.
Typically, these little cars were quite thirsty. Any R5 other than the 1.1 version would usually well exceed 7L/100 km. It’s also worth noting that many people (young drivers in particular) pushed these poor cars far too hard.
