2006 Citroen Berlingo Panel Van 1.9 diesel

Summary:

Sturdy old van

Faults:

Exhaust, suspension, brakes, etc.

Engine management light came on recently, seems OK but will need to get it checked.

Rust here and there as typical for a white van of this age, but nothing serious or MOT failing, it is mostly cosmetic. The van was wood lined inside and the interior has stood up surprisingly well for the daily use the van got.

General Comments:

A sturdy little white van, I have had this Berlingo for a long time and it has been dependable enough and economical.

1.9 diesel is noisy and slow, but does a solid 50 mpg if driven correctly. Keep up with oil changes and belt changes where applicable and they are as reliable as anything.

Interior is mostly grey, dull looking and a bit cramped, but seats are comfortable enough for long journeys.

Lots of space in the rear, probably as good as it gets for a van in this class.

Generally these Citroen Berlingo's aren't known to be reliable, but it has been better than the Ford Transit Connect I had before.

Hard to believe it is still going at its age, I will keep this vehicle as a cheap runabout despite the age and mileage getting on a bit; no point in replacing cheap reliable transport with good load lugging ability.
