2008 Citroen Berlingo Multispace VTR 1.6 HDi turbo diesel (90PS)

Summary:

A comfortable, spacious, economical MPV

Faults:

Nothing yet, although it looks like there is no jack or toolkit supplied. Surprising, since it was supplied by a Citroen franchise.

It was also advertised as having "Service History", but there is no service book. I have contacted the supplier about these two points.

General Comments:

It's a lot bigger than the Roomster, with loads of space inside and large seats with lots of legroom.

It appears to be more comfy than the Roomster, but I'm not sure if this is because the suspension is softer.

It's a bit barge like when pulling away, although once into 2nd gear it soon picks up, and the 90bhp diesel has plenty of go.

It has the Modutop fitted, which gives lots of useful overhead storage and daylight through the glass roof panels.

It has the optional air con fitted. I wouldn't buy a car without it now, and the ventilation is excellent.

The brakes seem very good; a lot more positive than the Skoda.

There are lots of nooks and crannies to put stuff away in the front. Something that was seriously lacking in the Skoda.

Although I've only done a few miles in it, and driving home from the franchise was in very heavy stop/start traffic, it still averaged 45 MPG; not bad for such a big car. Over the same route, the Skoda would do 50-55 MPG, so not that much different.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
