2008 Citroen C3 1.4 turbo diesel

Summary:

A fabulous buy!

Faults:

Nothing. Just normal brake and tyre replacements.

The car is absolutely superb.

General Comments:

A great car, and we have ordered a new Citroen.

It is so incredibly nippy that it is hard to believe that it only has a 1.4 diesel engine.

2008 Citroen C3 1.4 HDI turbo diesel

Summary:

Very good

Faults:

Perfect reliability until 25,000 miles and then water got in the electrics; this caused the car computer to send out dire warnings re: a fault in the lights system. My local (dreadful) Citroen dealer told me not to worry. After going back to them FOUR times, they found a serious shorting fault, which was on the brink of causing a fire!! The plastic was melting around N/S rear light casing. The guy who found the fault said, "Good job you brought it in - you were on the brink of a fire!" I told him that I had brought it in FOUR TIMES.

General Comments:

The car is generally excellent, superbly reliable.

But be careful of electric faults, some of which are due to questionable build quality.

Nevertheless, this is a mechanically very fine car.

2008 Citroen C3 1.4 turbo diesel

Summary:

Superb, I genuinely cannot fault it

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

The C3 is a most excellent car. Never having owned a Citroen before, my wife and I were not too sure what to expect, but it is superb.

I cannot find anything to be critical about. The 1.4 HDI is amazingly nippy and incredibly economical - don't be surprised to get 60 plus in all-round, average use.

The car just scorches away at the lights, it would have been inconceivable for a diesel to behave in such a manner just a few years ago.

The steering is very light, but road 'feel' is always good.

The seats are very comfortable but firm - very important with my back problems.

2008 Citroen C3 SX 1.4i 75BHP

Faults:

Nothing at the moment as the car is only nearly 2 months old.

General Comments:

I like the car; it's very nice and comfy, and feels more solid than my last C3, but it's a bit gutless. My last C3 1.4HDi Diesel seem to have more power, and would fly up hills, whereas this car can struggle, and you need to change down a lot and give it a lot of revs.

Fuel consumption still ain't great at the moment; I am getting about 31mpg, which is a bit disappointing, but my friend who recommended this car to me, and also my past 2 Citroens, said that I must give the engine time to run in, and then I should see an improvement in fuel consumption.

The equipment spec is really good compared to my old C3 Desire.
