2018 Ford Focus EcoBlue Zetec 1.5 diesel

Summary:

Rubbish with the auto box

Faults:

Mostly automatic transmission problems; the car is very hesitant to select reverse and also feels jerky across all changes.

General Comments:

If you are after a modern Ford Focus, avoid the automatics. I have had nothing but trouble with this car since purchase last year and the dealer has been looking at it for the third time now trying to fix the auto box.

It's a shame really - it's a very low mileage modern car and I thought I was getting a good deal. It's a very comfortable and economical car when running correctly.

Nice to drive.

Lots of space inside, Zetec model has plenty features for a middle of the road spec.

Would like another (been with Fords forever, usually they are OK), but a manual transmission only next time!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

2018 Ford Focus EcoBoost Titanium 1.0T petrol

Summary:

Love it so far

Faults:

Nothing, but I have only had it one year, put about 19,000 miles on it trouble free, one service so far showed up no advisories.

General Comments:

The modern Focus is a great car to drive and own. Titanium is near range topping and has all the modern features you would ever need.

1.0 Turbo Eco-boost engine is a bit weak in power until the turbo kicks in, but it is not bad to drive. You can also get over 50 mpg which from a petrol engine used to be unheard of, no need for diesels or electric in my opinion, this car is so economical.

Good looking car, love the looks of this and still looks like a Ford Focus in the way they have always looked.

Interior spacious and comfortable. Much better than my old Renault Clio. Love the dash and dials.

Plan to keep it a long time, just a perfect car for me - reliable, modern, comfortable and economical, what more could anyone want in this day and age?

You must drive super economical to get 50 mpg from petrol. I only ever got 38 - 45 mpg at best from mine on the 1.0 eco-boost. But that is the least of this car's worries - I believe this engine has the dreaded "wet belt".

Thankfully mine was a company car for only a year so I never had to replace it at my cost!
