2017 Ford Mondeo Titanium 2.0 TDCi
Summary:
Smart looking and nice to drive
Faults:
Basically nothing. Had the car one year, done over 10K miles, no issues. It was bought from a reputable used dealer, full history and the cam-belt has already been changed. MOT history showed no advisory. I highly advise everyone to look for the same when buying any used car, accept nothing less than a well looked after car with proven history and receipts. Like any car, things will get expensive for repairs on abused cars.
General Comments:
Gorgeous blue metallic 2017 Mondeo Titanium, a fantastic used buy on the market.
I have had the car a year with no problems. It's very nice to drive and look at.
Only slight disappointment is the 2.0 TDCi is not as economical as hoped. It struggles for 44 - 50 mpg, but that may be my faster driving style. Around 50 mpg is still OK, but my previous old 2011 VW Passat always managed over 55 mpg without trying. Summer is coming up and I will be doing some longer drives, I am hoping to see the average mpg rise to close to 60 mpg. Ford's claim of 65 mpg on average is a bit unrealistic, but with careful acceleration and over 300 miles on the motorway to travel with the cruise set at 70 mph, I hope to get very close to its best mile per gallon.
Still, the 2.0 TDCi is a reliable engine if cared for. It has plenty of power and feels very suited to this car. The car handles very sharply and inspires confidence on turns on country roads with easy overtaking.
Titanium model is near top of range and has electric everything. The seats are among the most comfortable I have ever sat in! There is a bit of a blind spot when reversing as per modern cars, but you get used to it.
I have little negatives to say about this car. If you're in the market for a nice big family/executive car and you see one of these for sale with reasonable mileage on it and it has full history at a good price, go for it! Any spec will do, they are all well equipped. I recommend you stick to manual transmission diesels however - the automatics and petrol engines of this generation are not very good (so I have heard/read).
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

This gen of Mondeo has "adblue" right? I was gonna buy one of these, but isn't the adblue system a pain on modern diesels? I know not exclusive to the Mondeo, but a lot of diesels seem to have issues at higher mileage with this system. It's cheap enough to fill and lasts a long time, but any problems with it and I do not want to pay hundreds to fix a stupid system that was put there out of environmental regulation nonsense.
