Summary:
Run away as fast as you can!
Faults:
Both bottom arms broke within 8 months of each other.

Floor corroded.
Tracking needs to be constantly renewed.
Drinks petrol for what it is IE.32Miles to the gallon!
Hub needed replacing.
Engine mount needed replacing.
Smells of petrol fumes when heater's on inside the car.
Tyres go bald on one edge very quickly due to tracking.

General Comments:
This car was bought with a 12 month M.O.T. and was in mint condition upon purchase.
I would like to say something positive about Ford Orion's, however this car thankfully is my last one out of 5 other Orion's and when a list of things go wrong like I have mentioned; I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say there is nothing good at all about Ford Orion's.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I had a Ford Orion 1992 1.8 diesel and can tell you one thing. The car salesman had a big window on his showroom floor as he saw a mug like me coming. The term product obsolescence (look it up). Ford take this concept to the extreme with this car amongst others, that's why all the Ford dealerships have closed in my area, because no-one wants bad quality cars. I was tortured with a new Orion. Couldn't keep it wheel tracked, sluggish, constant brake scape on the brake pads, clutch went at an early stage, parts broke that where never supposed to.. This car broke my heart so I never bought British again. Greedy corporate managers making them cheap. DON'T BUY BRITISH..

I completely disagree with what you have said as I've had a ford orion 1.8 diesel for the last 5 years and I've never had no problem. All it is is just how you drive and garage faults and basic wear and tear. So I would recommend ford orion to any one.
