General Comments:
Car handles like a dream - quick on acceleration and fast, very comfortable to drive especially on long distances. Cannot complain at 57 mpg on a run - it's got to be good. Trying to reach the magic 63 mpg as quoted in the Autocar test.

My parents have the 2.2d (bought 2nd hand on a 56 reg) and they love it. It goes round bends well and gets 40mpg or just over combined, and 50mpg on a run. I'ts got loads of poke, can be thrown into bends well and is very comfortable to boot.
After a year of ownership no real complaints, it looks smart and is very quiet for a diesel. The Mondeo STTDCI owners seem to love the engine also.

My X Type 2.0 d Sport is like driving a lump of jelly, will only do 40mpg and is slow. Wish I'd never bought the heap of junk.
