2000 Lincoln LS V6 3.0 V6

Summary:

A luxurious sports saloon with a 6-speed...From the USA!

Faults:

Nothing. I picked the car up when it was a year old from an importer (American Carriage Co, Kingston, Surrey) when it was a year old and its been fine ever since.

General Comments:

I chose my Lincoln LS because I love American cars and had long admired the styling of Lincolns, but had found previous Lincolns too large and soft for my tastes. I prefer cars that are sporty and involving to drive. The LS is smaller in size (similar to a 5-Series BMW) and is a proper sports saloon.

The Lincoln LS was originally going to be sold officially in the UK in RHD, but it was scrapped by Ford UK at the 11th hour. I wanted one so badly I got one anyway!

It corners superbly with little body roll in corners and is rear wheel drive. It handles like a BMW.

The 6-speed manual gearbox fitted to my car is fantastic. It is precise and feels sporty, making fast changes a doddle.

I wish It had a V8 engine rather than a V6, but the V8 was only available with an automatic gearbox. I like sporty cars (I used to own a Mustang 5.0 GT), so I wanted that 6-speed!

It is quite economical for a large saloon too, 27mpg.

The most luxurious car I have owned.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
