2004 Mazda B2500 Barracuda 2.5 turbo diesel

Summary:

Basic, slow pickup

Faults:

Leather seats, air con, ABS and lift kit.

Armrest is a bit flimsy

Nothing has gone wrong yet.

General Comments:

It's normally a farmer's vehicle, run into the ground, so to see a clean one is rare.

They do suffer badly underneath from rust on this model and the Ford Ranger.

1999 Mazda B2500 4-Action Double Cab 2.5 turbo diesel

Summary:

A good hard-working companion

Faults:

Nothing. I've had no work done on this truck except for routine maintenance.

General Comments:

The 2.5 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine fitted to the B2500 is very reliable, but could do with more power.

Double cab body style is much more practical than the single cab.

Quite comfortable to drive and reasonably refined. Much more comfortable and refined than a Land Rover Defender.

It is proving resistant to rust too, which is good as I find a lot of working trucks are prone to it.

It's very well built and just feels strong and durable.

Holds the road well, but feels a bit unwieldy in town due to it's size. This is a fairly big vehicle.

I have had my twin cab 4 years and the only problem I had was with glow plugs which were done under.warranty.

This is a great Tool.

Any news about the BT-50 double cab?

I'm planning to buy the 2008 2,5 lt cdi turbo inter-cooler 4wd unity?

I live in the country-side and work in the city, so I do a 90 km daily drive, with a big percentage of off-road (not nice 4 my old SUV) and during the week-end I need the double cab 4 passengers and eventually space 4 a motor bike or cargo.

I'm trying to find reviews (this page has been excellent 4 this purpose) about this new model & (as far as I know) engine.

I have got a 2001 B2500 with 105,000 miles on the clock, and it drives and look like new still, and it went straight through its MOT again this year.

The only thing I will say is it could do with a little bit more top end or an extra gear. Overdrive would do the trick.

I give my truck 9.9 out of ten.
