2005 Mercedes-Benz CLS 320 CDI 3.0 turbo diesel

Summary:

Great car. A classic in the making

Faults:

Front left suspension spring snapped while sitting on the drive!

General Comments:

Generally pretty happy with the car. I just love the look of it. I am normally a serial car buyer, quickly bored and wanting to move on to another model. However this is the first car I have kept for so long (5 years!).

I don't think I will sell it now as it represents great value. And it is bound to become a classic.

The 7 speed gear box seems sometimes a little confused as to which gear it should select.

Glad you said "a classic in the making". If I hear one more "instant classic", I'll scream.

I am a new owner (06 model year), and I can tell anyone reading this that this is one very good car.

The engine is very powerful and pulls strongly throughout the rev range, whilst still managing 30 - 35 mpg.

The interior has a high quality feel, and even in basic trim is very well appointed.

Then we come to the exterior, this car is an automotive work of art (personal opinions may vary).

2005 Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 3.5 litre petrol engine

Summary:

A stunning saloon car that thinks it's a sporty coupe

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Stunning looks turn heads where ever you drive it. The car has a real presence on the road - it sits lower and wider than the E-class on whose platform it is based.

Very smooth ride with an automatic seven speed gearbox.

Very comfortable interior, using high quality materials. An ergonomically sound design - everything is where you expect it to be.

Rear accommodates only two people because of the central storage console, but does so in comfort. Ideal for a couple with children who want to arrive in style.

Surprisingly large boot.

Congratulations! You are a lucky person to be owning such a breathtaking car:Nothing overdone, just staggering beauty inside or out and a beauty that will not age. This car is a landmark and like the Citroen DS, it will still be breathtaking in 50years time. Wish I had the money to buy one, but even just seeing one makes you feel glad to have eyes.

I bought a CLS for my girlfriend in June and she hasn't regretted it for a moment! Funnily enough I am considering replacing my BMW 5 Series with the Maserati Quattroporte../

(See abve) Don't think the car has done much wrong - so far the main fault has been the driver's airbag fault indicator coming on without there really being a fault. The g/f, though, that's another story...she's had two collisions and written off 2 tyres through lousy driving and is no longer part of the picture! Go figure...
