1997 Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4 2.5 TT

Summary:

Practical performance. Love it

Faults:

Radiator hose had a tiny split, so needed replacing, but that only cost £10. Other than that, it's been bulletproof.

General Comments:

The Legnums redeeming features include 260 BHP, permanent 4WD, Active Yaw Control (same as in the mitsi EVO), a clever semi-auto gearbox & very aggressive looks.

This car is fantastic, it's very quick & very practical all in one, it's the best car I have ever owned. It's such a joy to drive as it's very quick & holds the road extremely well, it will crease the road before it lets go. Plus that fact you can get 5 people in it plus the monthly shopping as well, is a bonus.

Its only problems that I can think of are the seats are very comfy, however they don't hold you very well in the corners. There's also the fuel economy; you can get about 28 mpg on a motorway, but with a heavy right foot that will drop into the mid tens, but if you want good fuel economy, go & buy a Prius.

I love this car & enjoy taking it anywhere, and normally find an excuse to as well. My advice to anyone thinking of getting one, DO IT. If you can live with being on first name terms with the petrol station staff.

1998 Mitsubishi Legnum VR4

Summary:

A high performance sports car with the room of a family estate

Faults:

The gear change is slow when cold, and the 5000 mile service is needed.

The only thing that has gone wrong with the car in the 8 months of owning it so far is the wiper blades needing replacement!

General Comments:

The car is very quick with excellent traction. Wet roads can be a bit more hazardous though.

The active Y.A.W. works very well with little or no wheel spin, even when driving it hard.

The dash lights up when the key is turned, which looks very nice and classy.

Being an estate, there is plenty of boot space, also lots of leg room in the front and back.
