2005 Nissan Micra S 1.2

Summary:

Honest, reliable and a laugh

Faults:

The only real issues I have had with this car is the fact that the housing around the switches for the blower have begun to strangely crack.

Also, the suspension arms have had to be replaced due to another mysterious "clicking" sound appearing from the vicinity of the throttle area.

Although the plastics are really cheap, they have lasted and you can use any interior car cleaner on them without the fear it will damage it.

No wear on fabrics or exterior parts.

Only problem is that the paintwork is prone to really nasty little scratches, which are supposed to be prevented by the "Supagard" protection agent. It's rubbish!

General Comments:

Although it's an auto, it is quick compared to the same manual-version engine, and makes traffic light starts easy!

Engine sounds good, even when revved or strained (especially on motorways).

Reliable, never had a problem with the engine.

Equipment very basic, even at the "S" level, god knows what the "E" is like! ABS, power steering and front airbags and that's about it!!!

Boot small and seats do not fold flat.

I like it, its great first car and stands up to practically everything.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Yeah I have had my micra now for over a year and NEVER had a problem yet. well impressed, WILL be buying again from nissan - reliability no issue! good choice mate!

2005 Nissan Micra Sport 1.4

Summary:

Has too many minor faults to be reliable

Faults:

Petrol tank seal leaked and needed replacing when car was still under warranty.

The steering wheel came loose and had to be towed to a Nissan dealer while car was still under warranty.

These two events happened within two weeks of each other during the last month.

We repaired the petrol tank seal at our own expense despite the car being under warranty so as to have the car on the road as quickly as possible. It was our own decision to do this because the car is vital for work. (our reason for always having a new car is so that we have a reliable car which is essential for my job)

We were, however, not very impressed that a new car should develop this fault in its first year.

The garage which repaired the steering wheel suggested we contact Nissan customer services.

This proved to be a frustrating time consuming business.

Also we had to spend money on telephone calls to do this (they would not or could not telephone us back). Don't suggest anyone deals with customer services or buys a car from this company again.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
